Photon Lines Ltd announces the release of the first diode laser with almost infinite modulation capability from Omicron
26 June 2006: Omicron have released the new Deepstar temperature stabilised diode laser offering high speed modulation up to 100MHz and real 100% modulation depth.
For the first time, the analogue and digital modulated laser diode module offers a real 100% modulation depth of greater than 100,000 to one. Especially developed for fluorescence excitation and applications where no remaining light is allowed in the off state during the modulation. Deepstar is the ideal source of light for Confocal laser scanning microscopy and flow cytometry. With their ultra-deep analogue modulation of more than 10MHz and digital modulation of more than 100MHz and with rise and fall times of below two nanoseconds, these lasers are suitable for high speed applications that were previously only possible by using a CW laser and AO modulator. Deepstar is available with 20mW at 375nm 60mW at 405nm, 50mW at 442nm, 20mW at 473nm as well as different powers up to 150mW at 635 to 980nm.
