Molecular Devices to hold HCS Seminars at MICROSCIENCE 2006

26 May 2006: Molecular Devices Corporation (Nasdaq: MDCC), a leader in innovative solutions for drug discovery and life sciences research, today announced its High-Content Screening seminar series for high-throughput imaging systems at MICROSCIENCE 2006 being held at ExCel in London June 27-29th. The seminar entitled An Introduction to High-Content Screening (High-Throughput Automated Cellular Imaging and Analysis) will contain key decision-making information to guide scientists responsible for specifying high-throughput imaging systems in their laboratories.

The seminar will be conducted by Dr. Peter Djali, Life Sciences Imaging Account Manager from Molecular Devices. Dr. Djali will discuss the concept of HCS, matching technology to budget, and data management and analysis considerations. “The seminar is ideally suited to newcomers to this area. All too often the buyer is inundated with technical specifications, background information and conflicting argument over what technology to adopt. A more pragmatic approach is required to avoid the pitfall of specifying an instrument that probably does everything, but none of it very well," said Dr. Djali.

The seminar is offered three times during the conference:
Date: Tuesday, 27th May 2006
Time: 15.30-16.00
Location: Area 2

Date: Wednesday, 28th May 2006
Time: 11.30-12.00
Location: Area 1

Date: Wednesday, 29th May 2006
Time: 12.30-13.00
Location: Area 2

The seminar is appropriate for new users or those thinking of adopting HCS technology, academics looking to increase scale and throughput, for example, RNAi screens, core facility managers and pharma industry managers.

Workshop and Exhibition registration is free. For more information about the seminar, visit Molecular Devices on stand L2 at the Microscience 2006 exhibition.
