MetaMorph Continues To Grow
Molecular Devices Recently Announced the Release of Version 7 of MetaMorph, MetaFluor and MetaVue
10 April 2006: Matamorph 7: The new 4D Viewer/3D Measurement module facilitates the viewing of multi dimensional data sets, stacks and sequential images. Users can simultaneously view multiple z sections, wavelengths, time points and positions in a single intuitive viewing window. The dedicated 4D Viewer also enables users to binarize multidimensional image data into discrete objects for 3D isosurface viewing and rotation. Isosurface objects selected by mouse are linked to an interactive spreadsheet of 3D object measurements such as volume and intensity. MetaMorph 7 Premier now includes an additional 2 analysis application modules: Cell Cycle and Multi Wavelength Cell Scoring, for a total of 6 which also include Angiogenesis, Count Nuclei, Cell Scoring and Neurite Outgrowth. The modules are designed for biology-specific applications and provide dedicated dialog boxes, improved segmentation through adaptation to local content and field and cell-by-cell data logging. Once the analysis is run, a cellular results table allows users to interactively view an individual cell's data. The modules can be incorporated into macros for increased customization and automation of analysis. Modules are validated in-house and with third-party collaborators. These 6 application modules can be purchased separately for MetaMorph Basic. Additional application modules available optionally for MetaMorph Premier and Basic are: Cell Health, Mitotic Index, Monopole Detection, Granularity and Live/Dead. The new Scan Slide feature, included in MetaMorph 7 Premier and available for Basic, can automatically scan a large area bigger than the field of view by acquiring multiple images and stitching them. Users can set the top left corner and bottom right corner of the desired area to acquire and let MetaMorph determine the calibration. Once MetaMorph has scanned the area and tiled the images on the fly, users can select a region of interest and view a high resolution image that is stitched automatically. This feature is ideal for acquiring large samples. The new Live Replay feature, included in MetaMorph Premier and available for Basic, is designed for capturing real time events such as in FRAP studies and other laser-based events, time lapse experiments, live cell imaging and digital video microscopy. When in "Live" mode, the software constantly maintains a buffer of recent live video of a specified duration. This buffer allows the interactive capture of complete events of interest including data both before and after the event.
