Leica zoom systems for inspection, documentation, machine vision and more
Leica Microsystems is introducing the only fully apochromatically corrected 6.3x and 16x zoom systems to the market
16 June 2006: For high-precision inspections and measurements from manufacturing to integration in machine vision systems, Leica Microsystems is introducing the only fully apochromatically corrected 6.3x and 16x zoom systems to the market. Apochromatic high-performance optics is clearly superior to other zoom systems with regard to contrast, image sharpness, color fidelity and image precision, and ensures the safe, fast and reliable detection of all faults. Zero-fault production guarantees higher productivity and better products, and ultimately safeguards the future of a company in international competition. The Leica 6.3x and 16x zoom systems are available as motorized versions (Leica Z6 APO A and Z16 APO A) and manual versions (Leica Z6 APO and Z16 APO). The motorized zoom systems allow the automation of many inspection and documentation tasks and are especially suited to experimental setups for high-tech developments: for example, images can be calibrated automatically, acquired in a database, and reference scales - such as measurement graticules or µ-bars - can be integrated directly in the image. Sequential photographs can be repeated in a time-saving manner using the PC control system, and the optional motorized focus can be used to move to testing positions with the highest precision, increasing productivity many times over. At the same time, the 6.3x zoom system offers the largest numeric aperture of all zoom systems on the market: 0.117 nA and 351 Lp/mm resolution with the 1x planapochromatic objective or 0.234 nA and 702 Lp/mm resolution with the 2x planapochromatic objective. Flat objects such as thin sections, wafers, integrated circuits and metal sections are imaged sharply, flat and distortion-free in the complete field of view. And with the largest working distances of all currently available zoom systems: 79 mm with 1x objective and 39 mm with 2x objective. The Leica 16x zoom system, with a magnification of 115x in the standard configuration - planapochromatic objective 1x and wide-field eyepieces 10x - is the zoom system with the largest zoom range in the world. Using 10x and 20x microscope objectives allows for total magnifications of up to 460x and a resolution of up to max. 1350 Lp/mm. This makes the Leica 16x zoom system perfectly suited for tasks that require the highest accuracy for testing: for example, inspections of safety systems and components in the automotive supply industry and in numerous other fields of precision mechanics, examination of semiconductor material, high-precision fiber alignment and assembly, as well as for individual measurement and testing sites in training, research and development. Leica zoom systems offer accessories and interfaces for problem-free installation in bonders and specimen instruments and feature the largest accessory program for all types of testing, training, documentation and analysis tasks in the QA lab. http://www.stereomicroscopy.com/leica_z6_apoa http://www.stereomicroscopy.com/leica_z16_apoa www.stereomicroscopy.com/z16_apo http://www.stereomicroscopy.com/z6_apo
